Wild, Brekke Attend WebBuilder 2.0
1/3/2008
iNet Technologies account executive Scott Wild and creative director Candace Brekke recently attended WebBuilder 2.0 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The conference featured seminars on a wide range of design, production and usability topics focused on moving forward into “Web 2.0.”
“Web 2.0 goes beyond building a web site,” says Scott. “It’s all the interactivity and interoperability that’s changing the way we use the internet. The early internet was like a monologue, with web sites talking to visitors. Today it’s more like a dialogue. Users do so much more than visit web sites. They create profiles, join social networks, live in virtual worlds, participate in blogs and forums. They’re online everywhere, at work, at home, at the mall, on desktops, laptops and cell phones. The conference gave us some great ideas to help our clients take advantage of all the opportunities Web 2.0 has to offer.”
“Web 2.0 presents both challenges and opportunities in design as well,” says Candace. “An online design has to do more than look good. It has to be functional and intuitive as well as expressive. Striking the right balance between aesthetics and technology is even more important as we move forward with creating a richer, more engaging online experience.”
